Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

How billing, cancellation and refunds work. This policy supplements the payment terms in our Terms of Service.

Draft — not yet in force. Still missing: Florida registration (Sunbiz document) number, registered postal address. A privacy policy that does not give the controller's address fails GDPR Art. 13(1)(a), and commercial email without a physical postal address breaches CAN-SPAM. Complete LEGAL_ENTITY in src/lib/legal.ts and have these documents reviewed by a lawyer before relying on them.

1. Free plan

The Free plan costs nothing and requires no card. You can stop using it at any time, and you can delete your account from your account settings.

2. How billing works

  • Paid plans (Pro at $19/month, Business at $49/month) are billed in advance for each billing period.
  • Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
  • Prices are in US Dollars and exclude any tax that may apply in your country.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel yourself at any time from Billing Manage subscription, which opens the Stripe billing portal. No need to email anyone.

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • You keep full access to your paid features until that date.
  • After it passes, your account reverts to the Free plan. It is not deleted, and your content stays.
  • If your usage exceeds the Free plan limits, existing content remains readable but you will not be able to create more until you are back under the limit.

4. Refunds

Because a subscription period is billed in advance and cancellation stops the next charge, cancelling part-way through a period does not by itself produce a refund for the remainder of that period.

That said, we would rather resolve a genuine problem than keep money someone feels was badly spent. We will consider a full or partial refund where:

  • The Service was materially unavailable or broken for a significant part of the period.
  • You were charged after cancelling, or charged twice.
  • You were charged for a plan you did not intend to buy, and have not substantially used it.
  • A feature was described on our pricing page as included and did not work.

Email support@socialschedulerplatform.com from your account address, within 30 days of the charge, with a short description of what went wrong. We aim to reply within 5 working days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.

5. Statutory cancellation rights (UK / EU consumers)

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you normally have a legal right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason. This right sits alongside the discretionary refunds above and is not replaced by them.

Digital services are a specific case: if you ask us to begin providing the Service immediately and you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once it has been fully performed, the 14-day right may not apply — or may be reduced in proportion to what you have already used. Because you get access the moment payment succeeds, this exception can apply to paid plans here.

To be completed: [TO BE COMPLETED]. Whether these rights apply depends on where the operating entity is established and whether it sells to consumers in the UK/EEA. This clause needs review by a lawyer, and the checkout flow may need to capture the express acknowledgement described above before the exception can be relied on.

6. Chargebacks

If something looks wrong on your statement, please contact us before raising a chargeback — most cases are a misunderstanding we can fix within a day, whereas a chargeback takes weeks and may suspend your account while the bank investigates.

7. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it over several days and we keep your paid features active during that window rather than cutting you off immediately. If every retry fails, the subscription ends and the account moves to the Free plan. You can restore access at any time by updating your card and subscribing again.

8. Price changes

We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before increasing the price of an existing subscription. If you do not want to continue at the new price, cancel before it takes effect and you will not be charged the higher amount.
